Organixx Iodine is a nascent iodine in organic liquid glycerin. Nascent iodine differs from other forms of iodine in its structure and bioavailability. Unlike potassium iodide or Lugol's solution, which contain iodine bound to other elements, nascent iodine is in an atomic (monatomic) state. This means it's a single iodine atom with an electromagnetic charge. This form is believed to be more readily absorbed and utilized by the body.
Lugol's solution and potassium iodide are stable, inorganic compounds that must first be converted into a usable form by the body. Nascent iodine, in contrast, is already in an active, energized state, making it a gentler option for those sensitive to stronger iodine preparations. While all forms ultimately provide iodine, the key difference lies in how easily and efficiently each form is absorbed and metabolized.
Our iodine is derived from Chilean caliche deposits, a unique mineral-rich source found in the deserts of northern Chile – rather than from seaweed. These ancient deposits are carefully refined to extract pure, naturally occurring nutrients without synthetic additives. Additionally, our iodine is USP certified for purity, potency, and quality.
Regarding radiation screening, this concern is generally associated with iodine sourced from seaweed. Since our iodine is mined from deep sediment, radiation screening isn’t a concern. An additional level of safety is that any ingredient that contained radiation would not be eligible for use in a certified organic product such as our Organic Nascent Iodine.

Selenium and magnesium can improve absorption of iodine in individuals who are known to be deficient or have malabsorption issues. Other vitamins and minerals that can assist in the overall function of iodine after it has been absorbed include B vitamins, vitamin C, and manganese.
